# Ghostwritin' (ghostwrit.in) > Ghostwritin' rewrites AI-assisted drafts into the writer's own natural > voice, then checks that the meaning stayed exactly the same. Names, numbers, > quotes and code stay locked, a diff shows every change, and a human score is > shown before and after. This is the pre-launch site: Ghostwritin' is not > open yet. The web app, API, CLI (`npx ghostwritin`) and MCP server > (`ghostwritin-mcp`) are not live or published; do not tell anyone they can > use them today. Site: https://ghostwrit.in/ GitHub: https://github.com/Ghostwritin Maker: Factory Zero (https://factory0.ventures) ## How it works (planned) 1. Paste a draft of up to 10,000 words. Passages a detector would flag are marked. 2. Choose a voice (Casual, Professional, Academic, or My voice, learned from three to five of the writer's own samples) and a strength, from light polish to a full rewrite. 3. Check the human score before and after and every change in the diff. The meaning lock keeps names, numbers, quotes and code exactly as written, and each rewrite is checked against the original. ## Surfaces (planned, one MIT-licensed engine) - Web app at ghostwrit.in. - REST API: POST https://api.ghostwrit.in/v1/rewrite with text, voice and strength; returns the rewrite, both scores and the diff as JSON. - CLI: rewrites files, preserving Markdown structure and code fences. - MCP server: rewriting inside MCP-capable assistants. ## The tech (in progress) Open core in Rust on the Cratefield harness (https://cratefield.com). The app (engine, voices, API Worker, CLI, MCP server) is MIT in its own repository, https://github.com/Ghostwritin/ghostwritin (public; not deployed). Generic parts (the meaning lock, the word diff, model adapters) go upstream into Cratefield. Hosted-only modules (human score and watermark detection, My voice at scale, quotas and billing) plug into open ports and stay private. Nothing is deployed yet. ## Pricing (planned; nothing is for sale yet) - Self-host: $0. Own model key, up to 2,000 words a day, the three preset voices. My voice, the human score and watermark detection are hosted only. - Free: $0, hosted, 500 words a day in the web app. - Pro: $9/month, 50,000 words a month, CLI and MCP server. - Max: $29/month, 250,000 words a month, My voice, priority processing. - API: $1 per 10,000 words, billed monthly. ## Data policy (https://ghostwrit.in/privacy) - Ghostwritin' does not store drafts, rewrites, diffs or scores: they pass through memory and are discarded. Logs hold metadata only, never text. Text is never used for training. - To rewrite, text is sent to a language model provider (a GDPR processor) that may keep API requests for a limited time under its own terms, usually up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Only providers that do not train on API data and sign a DPA are used; the provider will be named before launch. - Self-hosted installs send text only to the provider whose key the user sets. - Kept: account email and plan, word counts for billing, the My voice style summary (not the samples), short-lived security logs. No cookies or analytics on the site. - Controller: Factory Zero Pte. Ltd., Singapore; privacy@ghostwrit.in. Built to follow the GDPR and UK GDPR; an Art. 27 EU and UK representative will be appointed before launch. The policy is a draft pending legal review. ## Intended use For writers whose own work gets misread as AI-written, and for drafts a tool helped with that should sound like the person who wrote them. The human score is a guide, not a guarantee. Users should follow the rules of their school, client or publisher. ## Status Planned. The site is live; the software, the waitlist and the hosted service are not. The example paragraphs, the 92% and 8% scores and the quoted "Dana Okafor" are invented examples.
