Your words. No fingerprints.

Ghostwritin' rewrites AI-assisted drafts into your own natural voice, then checks that the meaning stayed exactly the same.

Open source under the MIT license, once it ships. Self-host it or use the hosted version.

Voice: Casual, strength: RewriteWords 23

BeforeIn today's rapidly evolving landscape, freelance writers must leverage cutting-edge tools to seamlessly elevate their content and foster meaningful engagement.

AfterFreelancing changes fast. The writers who last are the ones whose drafts still sound like them, even when a tool helped with the first pass.

8%AI-likely. Reads as human.
exampleWavy red marks show what a detector picks up. One blue pass rewrites the paragraph in your voice.

How it works

  1. Paste your draft

Drop in anything up to 10,000 words. Ghostwritin' marks the passages a detector would flag.

  2. Choose a voice and strength

Casual, Professional, Academic, or My voice, learned from your own samples. Go from light polish to a full ghostwrite.

  3. Check the score and diff

See the human score before and after, and every change in the diff. Names, numbers, quotes and code stay locked.

One engine, wherever you write

The web app, API, CLI and MCP server all run the same open-source engine, with the same voices and the same meaning lock.

REST API coming soon

One endpoint. Send text, a voice and a strength; get the rewrite, both scores and the diff back as JSON.

# coming soon: the API is not live yet
curl https://api.ghostwrit.in/v1/rewrite \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $GHOSTWRITIN_KEY" \
  -d '{"text": "…", "voice": "professional", "strength": "rewrite"}'

CLI coming soon

Rewrite files from your terminal or a build step. Markdown structure and code fences are preserved.

# coming soon: not published to npm yet
npx ghostwritin rewrite draft.md -o final.md

MCP server coming soon

Add Ghostwritin' to any MCP-capable assistant so rewriting happens inside the tools you already use.

# coming soon: not published to npm yet

Every change, on the record

The diff shows what was cut and what was written. Locked facts are boxed so you can see they never moved.

In today's fast-paced digital landscape, it is important to note that our Q3 revenue grew by 18% to $4.2M. Furthermore, Dana Okafor stated that put it simply: “we doubled down on retention,” which ultimately serves as a testament to the team’s dedication..” The team earned it.

The tech

An open core in Rust on Cratefield, the Factory Zero harness. The app is MIT and lives in its own repository; parts that other products can use go upstream into Cratefield; a few hosted-only modules stay private.

In progress · nothing deployed yet

Open source app MIT

  • EngineBuilds the prompt for your voice and strength, calls the model through Cratefield’s model port, and retries once if a locked fact moved.
  • VoicesCasual, Professional and Academic presets; My voice from a style summary, never your samples.
  • API, CLI, MCPA Cloudflare Worker for POST /v1/rewrite, a CLI that keeps Markdown and code fences, and an MCP server, all on the same engine.

Upstream in Cratefield generic

  • Meaning lockFinds names, numbers, quotes and code in a text and checks that a rewrite kept every one exactly.
  • Word diffWhat was cut, what was written, and which spans were locked.
  • Model adaptersAnthropic and OpenAI-compatible providers behind one port, so self-hosters bring their own key.

Hosted only private

  • Human score and watermark detectionPlug into open ports; the open app ships a placeholder.
  • My voice at scale, quotas and billingThe parts that run the paid service.

Your text stays yours

We don’t store your drafts or your rewrites. The model that does the rewriting may, under its own terms, and we tell you which one.

Ghostwritin’ is built to follow the GDPR and UK GDPR: you can access, export or delete what we hold at any time.

Read the data policy
  • We don’t keep your text

Drafts and rewrites pass through our servers in memory and are gone when the response is sent. No copies, no logs of the content, no training on it.

  • The model provider might

To rewrite, your text goes to a language model provider. Under its own terms it may keep requests for a limited time, usually for abuse monitoring. We will name the provider and link its terms before launch, and choose providers that don’t train on API data.

  • Self-host, and it never reaches us

A self-hosted install sends text only to the model provider whose key you set. Ghostwritin’ never sees it.

  • What we do keep

Your email and plan if you have an account, word counts for billing, and for My voice a style summary you can delete at any time. Not the samples, not your drafts.

Pricing

Questions

Can I use it today?

Not yet. Ghostwritin' is being built. The waitlist form on this page says so instead of pretending to sign you up; follow the GitHub organization to hear when it opens.

Do you store my text?

No. Drafts and rewrites pass through our servers in memory and are not stored, logged or used for training. To rewrite, the text goes to a language model provider, which may keep requests for a limited time under its own terms; we will name the provider and link its terms before launch. Self-hosted, your text goes only to the provider whose key you set.

Is it really open source?

It will be. The engine, web app, CLI and MCP server are planned under the MIT license on GitHub. A self-hosted install will use your own model key and include the three preset voices, up to 2,000 words a day. My voice, the human score and watermark detection for major AI models are planned for the hosted service only.

Will it change my facts?

No. The meaning lock keeps names, numbers, quotes and code exactly as written. Each rewrite is checked against your original, and the diff shows every change.

Is this a way to get around detectors?

Ghostwritin' is for writers whose own work gets misread, and for drafts a tool helped with that should sound like the person who wrote them. Follow the rules of your school, client or publisher.

What is My voice?

Upload three to five samples of your writing. Ghostwritin' builds a style summary from them and rewrites in that voice. My voice is included with Max.

What does the human score measure?

How likely a detector is to read the text as AI-written, shown before and after each rewrite. Use it as a guide, not a guarantee.

Can I use it from my own tools?

Yes, once it ships. The REST API, CLI and MCP server run the same engine as the web app. The CLI and MCP server come with Pro and Max; the API is pay as you go.
